Logical Arguments for God's Existence

God is something than which nothing greater can be thought.

God exists in the understanding.

It is greater to exist in reality and in the understanding than just in understanding.

Therefore, God exists in reality

IOW, if you can imagine God, then he must exist. Seems to me that, this is just another "because I say so" argument.; April 5, 2009 at 7:42 AM
GCT said...: I liked Dawkins' treatment of that when he said something along the lines of this:

I can image the smelliest thing than which nothing smellier can be thought, and god must be the smelliest thing possible.

Robert Madewell said...: I just noticed that instead of Teleological argument that should be the Cosmological argument.

The teleological argument is "the painting has a painter" type of argument.
